On Nature

Wed 15 May – Sat 13 July 2024
The Arts Lounge, Wyreena Community Arts Centre, Croydon VIC

On Nature explores the influence of nature, the seasons, and the elements on Natalie's artistic endeavours over the past 8 months. "I was inspired to create a series that inquires into the contrasts, overlaps, and spaces between the natural and synthetic realms, both in the physical world and the places within." This exploration is expressed in Natalie's choice of tones and palette, which encompasses soft hues, vibrant eccentric colours, and delicate strokes intertwined with organic mark-making.

Thanks to Maroondah City Council, and Wyreena Community Arts Centre for supporting this project and to Maroondah Arts Collective for facilitating an artist Q and A session.

Emanation

Fri 23 Feb – Sun 7 Apr 2024
The Memo, Healesville VIC

Emanation invites viewers to contemplate themes of growth, expansion, fear, and boldness. As an intuitive artist, Natalie paints without predefined plans or reference images but remains influenced by her life experiences and surroundings. Emanation takes viewers on a non-linear journey, demanding surrender and trust.

Featuring oversized acrylic paintings, a fabric installation, and wearable art; the artist demonstrates freedom, playfulness, and a reflection on past and current aspects of Natalie's creative process. Thanks to Culture Tracks, Creative Victoria and Yarra Ranges Council for supporting this project.

Please note the acrylic paintings are on paper and are oversized (begin at approximately 1.5m X 1m). Contact the artist for any enquiries including framing quotes.

Soft VS Edgy

15th April - 27th May 2023
Burrinja, Wurundjeri Country, Upwey VIC

Influenced by emotions, relationships, pivotal life experiences and mundane moments, Natalie conveys without hesitation, her expression of psychological and spiritual concepts where sometimes words are not enough.

Throughout the development and refinement of Soft VS Edgy, it took personal will and courage to step away from works that to me, initially seemed “too simple” “too plain” or that I wanted to “make better” however, as I progressed, I discovered a beauty and appreciation of my own minimal style. The shapes that emerged were in two distinct categories and many reveal aspects of myself or those close to me. Some paintings are a commentary on the way these themes intersect or are intertwined, or are affected by external and internal forces.
